Shaquera Wade Inks Deal to Play Professional Basketball in Switzerland

The former Crimson Tide standout signed with Esperance Sportive Pully
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama's No. 7 all-time steals leader, Shaquera Wade signed a professional contract with Esperance Sportive Pully in Pully, Switzerland this weekend. Wade is one of five former Alabama players to land a professional contract in the last two years.
"Honestly, I'm very excited about this opportunity to play professional basketball" said Wade. "It's a blessing to continue to play the game that I love and also travel and see a different part of the world. I can't wait to be a part of my new team in Switzerland."
Wade, a four-year starter for the Crimson Tide, finished her career averaging 7.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. She also put her name in the Alabama record books after ending at No. 7 with 182 career steals, No. 3 in all-time games played with 131 and No. 8 in career starts with 100 for the Tide. The Huntsville native, also ended her time at UA with 1,028 career points. She played her best basketball of the 2018-19 season when she averaged 22.5 points and nine rebounds in two games in the 2019 SEC Tournament.
Wade is one of five Alabama players to sign professional contracts over the last two years with Hannah Cook in playing Iceland, Ashley Williams suiting up in Germany, Quanetria Bolton seeing time in Portugal and Alana da Silva playing in her home country of Brazil.
