Collins joins the Tide from UC Davis
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama soccer team welcomes Rachael Collins as the new Volunteer Assistant Coach.
"I would like to thank Coach Wes Hart for this incredible opportunity," Collins said. "I am honored and unbelievably excited to work with the University of Alabama women's soccer program. It is a privilege to be a part of an athletic program with such a rich history and family environment and I couldn't think of a better staff to join in the continued development of each individual player on and off the field."
A native of Littleton, Colo., Collins comes to UA from UC Davis where she served as an assistant coach for two seasons (2017-18) for the women's soccer program.
Collins attended Pepperdine University (2013-17) and played a key role in the Waves' on-field success after earning a spot in the starting lineup her freshman season and maintaining it throughout her college career. Her two-way play as a midfielder led Pepperdine to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 berth during the 2014 season.
Pepperdine selected her as a Maurice Hilliard Award recipient, received annually by a student-athlete that exemplifies the attributes of Christian faith, character and leadership. Collins also earned West Coast Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention and Scholar-Athlete accolades throughout her undergraduate career.
The Tide assistant also possesses five years of playing experience with the Colorado Rush Soccer Club. Throughout that timespan, Collins started for the Rush Women's W-League team, trained, competed alongside, and against a field of players that continued their careers at the Division I level.
Collins earned her Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from Pepperdine in 2017.
