NCAA SOFTBALL TUSCALOOSA REGIONAL - GAME 2 - Alabama Beats Alabama State, 8-2

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.  – The Alabama Crimson Tide beat the Alabama State Hornets 8-2 Friday night, to close day one of the 2019 NCAA Softball Tuscaloosa Regional being held at Rhoads Stadium this weekend.
Alabama State took the early lead, going up 1-0 in the top of the first before Alabama answered with three runs in the bottom of the stanza The Tide added two more runs in the second inning and three in the fourth, before Alabama State scored one in the top of the seventh inning to account for the final margin. Â
Junior Krystal Goodman picked up the win for Alabama, pushing her record to 11-0 on the season, while junior Justine Jean took the loss for the Hornets, falling to 12-13.
Alabama returns to action Saturday at 1 p.m. CT against Arizona State while Alabama State faces Lipscomb in the regional's first elimination game Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
