NCAA SOFTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS – TUSCALOOSA REGIONAL GAME ONE - Arizona State Beats Lipscomb, 4-3

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Arizona State Sun Devils beat the Lipscomb Bisons 4-3, to close out game one of the 2019 NCAA Softball Tuscaloosa Regional being held at Rhoads Stadium this weekend.
After three scoreless innings, Lipscomb grabbed the first lead of the game in the top of fourth, going up 2-0. Arizona State answered with one in the bottom of the fourth and two in the bottom of the fifth to go ahead 3-2 after five innings. Lipscomb pulled even in the top of the sixth before the Sun Devils put the deciding run across in the top bottom of the sixth. In a show of power, the two teams combined for five home runs, including three from Arizona State and two from Lipscomb.
In the circle, junior Cielo Meza picked up the win for Arizona State, pushing her record to 15-9, while senior Mandy Jordan took the loss for Lipscomb, falling to 18-8.
Arizona State returns to action Saturday at 1 p.m. CT against the winner of Friday's Alabama-Alabama State game. Lipscomb faces the loser of the UA-Alabama State contest in an elimination game Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
