BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the second consecutive season, senior Andie Daniell has been named First Team All-Southeastern Conference, the league office announced on Wednesday morning.
This season Daniell has a 24-9 singles record, including a 15-5 mark in dual match competition. All of Daniell's 15 victories in dual match play have come in straight sets. In 2019, Daniell is 7-3 against top-125 foes and 6-2 in singles SEC competition.
Daniell is playing some of the best tennis of her career as of late. The Douglasville, Ga., native has won her last eight matches with six coming against nationally-ranked opponents. Daniell has a career-best 11-6 mark against top-125 singles players in 2018-19, including earning her highest-ranked wins against No. 8 Ida Jarlskog of Florida (4/5) and No. 8 Eden Richardson of LSU (4/18).
In the latest Oracle/ITA Singles Rankings, Daniell moved up 14 spots to No. 35 in the country. On April 16, the senior earned her first-career SEC Player of the Week honor after picking up two ranked singles wins against Arkansas and Missouri. In addition, earlier this month Daniell was named to the 2019 SEC Women's Tennis Community Service Team for the second-straight year for her selfless work in the community.
