TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A 3-1 week, including a series win against Mississippi State, helped Alabama softball maintain its spot in the national top-5, coming in at No. 4 in both the USA Today/NFCA and ESPN.com/USA Softball polls for the second consecutive week.
The Crimson Tide defeated Georgia Tech on Wednesday before taking two of its three games against Mississippi State. Eight of last week's top-10 teams remain in this week's rankings. Alabama is the highest-ranked SEC team in both polls, joined in the top 10 by Tennessee (5/7), LSU (7/5) and Florida (8/9). In total, 10 SEC programs are represented in at least one top 25 poll with Missouri receiving votes in both.
This week, Alabama closes its five-game home stand hosting UAB Wednesday, April 3 at 6 p.m. CT before hitting the road for a three-game SEC series at No. 16/RV South Carolina, starting Friday, April 5 at 5 p.m. CT.
