Alabama Softball Enters Conference Slate Ranked No. 5

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – As one of two undefeated teams remaining in college softball, Alabama heads into conference play this weekend ranked No. 5 in both the USA Today/NFCA and ESPN.com/USA Softball polls.
The Crimson Tide went 5-0 last week to improve to 20-0 on the season, joining top-ranked Florida State as the only undefeated teams in college softball. Alabama moved up one spot from last week's NFCA poll and remained at No. 5 for the second-straight week in the USA Softball rankings. No new teams joined the top 10 in either poll, with Florida (4/4), Tennessee (7/7), Georgia (8/8) and LSU (10/9) representing the SEC alongside Alabama.
This week, Alabama hosts a pair of midweek contests against South Alabama on Tuesday, March 5 and Mississippi Valley State on Wednesday, March 6 before opening conference play at Rhoads Stadium against Missouri, March 8-10.
