TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama setter Meghan Neelon will head to the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., this weekend to attend the U.S. Women's National Team Open Tryout.
Neelon, who enters her senior season with the Crimson Tide in the fall of 2019, will be one of over 200 athletes slated to attend this weekend's open tryout, vying to earn a spot on one of the U.S. Women's National Team programs, which includes multiple collegiate national teams.
"I am very excited that Meghan will represent The University of Alabama at this weekend's national team tryout," UA head coach Lindsey Devine said. "I know Meghan will challenge herself to learn and grow from this experience. To work alongside and compete against other great players from across the nation is a special opportunity in her career."
The Clarence Center, N.Y., native has been Alabama's primary setter each of her first three seasons in Tuscaloosa, amassing 1,942 assists during that time. Her total ranks eighth all-time at UA.
