LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Alabama gymnastics team fell to Kentucky in Lexington Friday night by a score of 197.200-196.800.
"We had a solid meet tonight with some definite bright spots," UA head coach Dana Duckworth said. "We went 24-for-24 and fixed some of the issues we saw last week. We continue to have to shuffle our lineup for a variety of reasons, including some illness that we dealt with this week, but we have to continue to move forward no matter the circumstances and keep growing and getting better."
Freshman Emily Gaskins led the Tide to a 49.200 on the uneven bars to open the meet, winning the bars with a 9.900 from the anchor spot. Senior Ariana Guerra added a 9.850, while sophomore Kylie Dickson and junior Shea Mahoney posted 9.825s.
On the vault, Alabama tallied a 49.125 behind a 9.85 from Gaskins and 9.825s from senior Abby Armbrecht, sophomore Lexi Graber and Mahoney.

The Tide closed the meet with a 49.225 on the balance beam, led by Armbrecht's 9.900, which was good for the individual win. Gaskins and sophomore Alonza Klopfer added 9.85s on the beam, while Graber went 9.825.
