Alabama Men’s Tennis Moves Up to No. 16 in ITA National Team Rankings

Senior Mazen Osama jumped up eight spots to No. 32 in singles
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's tennis team moved up seven spots to No. 16 in the latest Oracle/ITA National Team Rankings, the organization announced on Wednesday. Senior Mazen Osama jumped up eight spots to No. 32, while sophomore Patrick Kaukovalta entered the Oracle/ITA Singles Rankings at No. 108.
After a 2-0 outing two weeks ago in California, the Crimson Tide owns an 8-1 record on the season. Alabama opened the season with a six-match win streak, before falling to Minnesota, 3-4, on Feb. 1. The Crimson Tide has silenced three opponents, including shutting out Pepperdine, 4-0, on the road on Feb. 10.
So far this spring season, Osama has been steady at the No. 1 singles position with a 6-2 record. In the first road tests of the year, Osama set the tone downing SDSU's Fabian Roensdorf, 6-4, 6-4 and Pepperdine's Adrian Oetzbach, 7-5, 6-1.
Osama and the Crimson Tide will return to the court on Feb. 22-23 at the 71st playing of the prestigious Blue Gray National Tennis Classic at the Lagoon Park and O'Connor Tennis Center in Montgomery, Ala.
