Student-Athlete Internship Spotlight
Brianna Koshy, Cross Country, Track & Field
"Over this past summer, I interned with Tangelo Manual Therapy & Movement in Seattle, Washington as a rehab specialist intern. Tangelo is a hybrid clinic of chiropractic, sports medicine and manual therapy. The chiropractors assess the patients and use manual therapy to relieve pain. The patients move to the rehab floor where they work with rehab specialists to perform exercises in order to develop better movement patterns. I gained a lot of experience with patient interaction by creating rehab exercise plans for patients and correcting their movements.
This internship was insightful for me to compare and contrast the jobs of chiropractors, physical therapists and athletic trainers. At the time, I was unsure of which direction I wanted to go. This experience helped guide me to PT school and wanting to work with other athletes. I am grateful for this opportunity and how it has prepared me for my next step."
