Alabama Welcomes No. 19 Kentucky for Power of Pink/Play4Kay Game on Monday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's basketball team will try and get back on track when it hosts No. 19 Kentucky for the annual Power of Pink/Play4Kay game on Monday, Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. CT inside Coleman Coliseum. The Crimson Tide (11-12, 3-7 SEC) has lost its last two games, while the Wildcats (19-5, 6-4 SEC) have won their last two.

THE BROADCAST
• Monday's game will be televised live on SEC Network. Brenda VanLengen (play-by-play) and Andraya Carter (analyst) will be on the call.
• The game can also be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network on 100.1 FM in Tuscaloosa with Roger Hoover on the broadcast.
OPENING TIP
• Alabama will try and get back on track in Coleman Coliseum against No. 19 Kentucky on Monday, Feb. 11 at 6 p.m. CT after dropping its last two games. The meeting on Monday is the annual Power of Pink/Play4Kay game.
• Last time out, the Crimson Tide (11-12, 3-7 SEC) fell in a road contest to Florida on Thursday night, while the Wildcats (19-5, 6-4 SEC) are coming off a 78-68 road victory against Auburn.
• This is the 48th meeting between the two schools with Kentucky holding the 30-17 all-time advantage. The Wildcats have won six consecutive meetings against the Crimson Tide.
ABOUT KENTUCKY
• The Wildcats have won their last two games after besting Florida, 62-51, at home and then picking up a road win versus Auburn, 78-68, on Feb. 7.
• Rhyne Howard (16.5 ppg) and Maci Morris (16.1 ppg) lead UK while Taylor Murray also averages double figures with 12.7 points per contest.
• The Wildcats are second in the conference in several key categories: assist-to-turnover ratio (1.02), scoring margin (16.4), steals per game (10.8) and three-point field goals made (184). UK is also first in three-point field goal percentage (37.7), along with turnover margin (8.33) and turnovers forced per game (22.13).
NEWS AND NOTES
• Junior Cierra Johnson has scored in double digits in her last six games and in 18 of the last 20 contests. She is also currently first on the team with 14.6 points per game and in total assists with 67 through 23 games. Johnson is also the top-rebounding guard on the squad and third on the team with 4.7 per contest. The junior has twice as many free throw attempts (122) and makes (90) than any other player on the team. At the beginning of SEC play, Johnson moved from shooting guard to starting at the point guard position with the injury to Jordan Lewis. Over those 10 contests, Johnson is averaging 16.0 points (7th in SEC), 5.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists.
• Sophomore Jasmine Walker is currently the second leading scorer among active members on the team and is the leading rebounder with 13.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Walker also leads the team with four double-doubles this season and has six games in which she has registered double-digit rebounds. At 38.3 percent from the three-point line, Walker is also first on the team in percentage and first in three-pointers made (41). Her 13.5 points ranks 19th in the league, while her 7.3 rebounds per contest ranks 13th in the SEC.
• Sophomore Ariyah Copeland's improvement can be spotted on the court and on the stat sheet. Through 23 games this season Copeland is tops on the team with 1.3 blocks per game (6th in SEC) and second on the squad with 6.9 rebounds (15th in SEC) per contest. Copeland is also putting up 8.1 points per game, compared to averaging three points a game a season ago. The Columbus, Ga., native is second on the team with three double-doubles this season and has started the last 14 games for the Tide.
• Getting off to a hot start has been key for the Tide this season, when leading at half UA is 10-1, while when trailing, 1-11.
