Alabama Women’s Basketball Continues Home Stand Versus Colgate on Sunday

The Crimson Tide and the Raiders will tip off at 2 p.m. CT in Coleman Coliseum
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama continues its home stand versus Colgate on Sunday at 2 p.m. CT inside Coleman Coliseum. The Crimson Tide (5-3) has lost its last two games, while the Raiders (7-2) are off to their best start in program history.
This is the first time ever that the two programs are playing against each other.
Promotions
• There will be postgame autographs immediately following the game. Fans will be allowed to come down to the court and meet the players and staff with autograph opportunities. In addition, kids 12 & under will be allowed to shoot baskets on the Coleman Coliseum floor.

• UA has lost its last two games against Power 5 schools, including its 75-66 defeat against Iowa State on Thursday night and a 60-57 loss to USC on Sunday in Las Vegas.
• Leading the Tide is redshirt junior point guard Jordan Lewis who leads the team in points with 13.1 and assists with 3.0 per contest. Lewis has scored 20-plus points in three of the last four games. Senior Cierra Johnson is averaging 11.8 points per game off the bench, while junior Jasmine Walker is putting in 10.6 points each time out.
• The Alabama bench has outscored its opponents in all eight games this season. The reserves have accounted for 47 percent of the Tide's scoring,
• Lewis has been playing well over her last five games, putting up 16.4 points per game. In addition, the Windermere, Fla., native has shot 52 percent (12-of-23) from beyond the arc over her last five contests.
• Alabama is outscoring its opponents 162-104 in the second frame.
• Senior Ashley Knight is just three blocks away from becoming the all-time career blocks leader at Alabama. Knight had two blocks in the Tide's last game, to give her 185 career blocks, just two away from tying Alabama great, Yolanda Watkins who finished with 187 career swats. She is the SEC active career leader in blocks and she still holds the single-season block record with 90 her freshman year.
About Colgate
• The Raiders are off to their best start in program history with a 7-2 record.
• Rachel Thompson leads Colgate in every major statistical category except for blocks. Thompson is averaging 16.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 3.1 steals per contest.
• The Raiders are led by fourth-year head coach Bill Cleary who has a 36-62 record at Colgate and a career record of 256-216 in 17 years.
