Three former Alabama football greats named to the ESPN CFB 150- All-Time All-America team
ORLANDO, Fla. – Alabama football traveled to Orlando, Fla. on Thursday, putting in a two-hour session in shells for its first on-site workout at Celebration High School.
Thursday's session was Alabama's eighth of 12 total practices leading up to the matchup with Michigan in the 2019 Vrbo Citrus Bowl. The Crimson Tide and Wolverines are set for a 12 p.m. CT kickoff on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, with the game airing live on ABC.
Also on Thursday, former University of Alabama football standouts offensive guard John Hannah and linebackers Cornelius Bennett and Derrick Thomas were named to the ESPN College Football 150 All-Time All-America team. John Hannah was selected to the first-team offense, while Thomas and Bennett were tabbed second-team defense.
As part of its yearlong College Football 150 storytelling initiative, the prestigious list is comprised of a first team and a second team, with 11 players on offense, 11 on defense, a kicker, a punter and an all-purpose player on both teams. The All-Time All-America team is derived from a blue-ribbon panel vote, which was conducted earlier this year.
