Alabama Rowing Goes Three-For-Three, Earns Gold in All Races Competed at Head of the Hooch

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Alabama Rowing team concludes day one of the Head of the Hooch regatta with three gold medals, as well as six Top-5 finishes.

The Alabama A Novice Boat (Stephanie Slaven, Kara Alexander, Stella Bolton, Renee Weiland, Elle Turner, Hunter Hopkins, Kaitlyn MacDonald, EB Donovan, Ashley Davis), consisting of all new walk-on members placed first in the Women's College and Club Novice 8+. This race marked the first collegiate rowing event for all members.

The other two gold medals were earned in the Women's Championship 8+ and the Women's Championship 2X. Other Top-5 Finishes included fourth in the Women's Championship 8+, fifth in the Women's College and Club Novice 8+, and second in the Women's Championship 2X. The Women's Championship 4+ event was cancelled.

Alabama will compete in three events tomorrow on Day Two, the Women's Collegiate 1X, the Women's Open 2-, and the Women's Open 8+.
