No. 13 Crimson Tide Women’s Golf Surges into an 11-Stroke Lead at Landfall Tradition

Alabama turns in a season best 10-under par 278 in Saturday’s second round
WILMINGTON, N.C. – The No. 13 Alabama women's golf team surged into the lead turning in a 10-under par 278 second round total on Saturday at the Landfall Tradition at the Country Club of Landfall.
The Crimson Tide currently hold an 11-stroke lead with a 13-under par 563 two-round total (285-278). No. 9 South Carolina, which entered the day tied with Alabama, is in second place with a 2-under par 574 (289-285). Florida State is third with a 3-over par 574 (289-290).
A Look at the Alabama Lineup
- Over the 36 holes that have been contested, the Crimson Tide lead the tournament field in par four average (3.93, -7) and the most birdies (35) of any team this week in Wilmington.
- Individual tournament leader, junior Angelica Moresco, stands alone at first place with a two-stroke lead after turning in a second round 2-uder par 70.
- Closely behind Moresco, is senior Kenzie Wright, who went bogey free the final 10 holes to end at 2-under par 70, with a tournament total 3-under par 141.
- Freshmen Caroline Curtis and Emilie Øverås finished the day at 3-under par 69 and are both tied for sixth overall at 2-under par 142.
- Curtis (73-69) went bogey free till the 15th hole and turned in four birdies in the second round.
- In her best round of her young collegiate career, Øverås fired off a team-leading six birdies on the day.
- Junior Polly Mack (72-78/150) stands tied for 47th place heading into tomorrow's final round.

Next Up
The Crimson Tide seek its first victory of the season when they tee off the final round of the Landfall Tradition on Sunday at 7:45 a.m. CT with a shotgun start. Alabama will be paired along with South Carolina and Florida State.
