Limited Number of Tickets Available for Saturday's Football Game
We have a limited number of tickets remaining for Saturday's game against Arkansas in Bryant-Denny Stadium. Join us in Tuscaloosa for an event-packed weekend as we celebrate Homecoming and recognize the 10-year anniversary of our 2009 National Championship Team.
Bryant-Denny Stadium Becomes Sensory Inclusive
Last week, we partnered with KultureCity to make Bryant-Denny Stadium sensory inclusive. This was extremely important to us as we strive to give all fans the best experience possible at our events. The feedback after just one game alone has been incredible, and we hope that the sensory bags available in the stadium will continue to assist in providing comfort to guests with sensory sensitivities.
Soccer Closes out Regular Season
Our soccer team has three remaining matches on its regular-season schedule with the last two being played right here in Tuscaloosa. On Sunday, we take on Auburn at 1 p.m. before closing out the home slate on Thursday, October 31 against Vanderbilt at 7:30 p.m. We hope you'll join us in helping to provide a great home atmosphere as our team looks to finish out the regular season strong.
Men's and Women's Basketball Set for Sunday Exhibitions
Our men's and women's basketball teams will be in action Sunday with an exhibition doubleheader scheduled in Coleman Coliseum. The men will get things started at noon against Georgia Tech, while the women will follow at approximately 2:30 p.m. versus Auburn-Montgomery. Admission to the men's exhibition is $5 with proceeds benefitting the American Red Cross Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund, and admission to the women's game is free. Season ticketholders are reminded that a ticket to this game is included in your packet.
Baseball and Softball Exhibitions on Deck for Sunday
Both our baseball and softball teams will take their respective fields on Sunday with fall exhibitions lined up. Baseball is slated to face Southern Miss at 1 p.m., while softball will host Marion Military Institute at 1:30 p.m.
The Crimson Tide and Team USA
Head coach Coley Stickels, sophomore Kensey McMahon and freshman Liam Bell have all earned a place with USA Swimming's National Teams. Coley, in his first year as our head coach, is in his eighth year as a United States National Team coach. Kensey, a veteran of the Team USA's junior squad, earned a spot on the U.S. Women's National Team after a strong showing at this summer's USA National Championships. Liam earned a place on the U.S. Junior National Team after winning the 100-meter breaststroke at this summer's USA Junior National Championships. We're very excited about this latest example of the success our swimming and diving program is enjoying on the national and international stage.
Former Tennis Standout Alexa Guarachi Earns Career-Best WTA Ranking
Congratulations to Alexa Guarachi, women's tennis All-American who starred for the Crimson Tide from 2010-13, on achieving her highest world ranking since going pro as she came in at No. 59 in the latest Women's Tennis Association doubles ranks. She has had a stellar career thus far, qualifying for six consecutive Grand Slams and advanced all the way to the Round of 16 in doubles at the 2019 U.S. Open.
Alabama Shines in Latest NCAA Graduation Success Rate Numbers
The NCAA released its latest Graduate Success Rate numbers last week and Alabama Athletics once again had strong numbers cross the board. Six of our teams posted perfect scores of 100, while a total of 12 squads tallied scores of 91 or better. Our overall score of 91 is a testament to the emphasis our student-athletes, faculty, coaches and the athletics department as a whole puts on academics at The University of Alabama, which continues to be a source of a great pride for all who support the Crimson Tide.
Episode Two of the Roll TideCast Drops Friday
The second episode of the Roll TideCast, the official podcast for Alabama Athletics, drops Friday and will be available on Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Spotify and Stitcher among other outlets. The latest episode features football's Raekwon Davis and Landon Dickerson, Associate Athletics Director for Sports Medicine and Head Football Athletic Trainer Jeff Allen, women's basketball head coach Kristy Curry and men's basketball point guard Kira Lewis Jr. So, give it a listen as you go through your #RollTideFriday or on your way to Saturday's Homecoming Game and please subscribe, rate and give us your feedback.
Beat Auburn Beat Hunger Rolls On
The 26th-annual Beat Auburn Beat Hunger food drive is well underway, and we have several upcoming events that Crimson Tide fans can bring nonperishable food items to and support this vital cause, starting with Sunday's soccer match against Auburn and Monday's Halloween Extravaganza. The soccer match gets underway at 1 p.m., while the Halloween Extravaganza starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility. We're off to a good start but need your help to finish strong. So join us for these events and help us Beat Auburn and Beat Hunger again this year.
Halloween Extravaganza Coming Up
As I mentioned above, our Life Skills program and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is hosting the annual Halloween Extravaganza on Monday, October 28 from 6:30–8:30 p.m. in the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility. One of our favorite fan events of the year, we encourage families to put on their costumes and join Crimson Tide student-athletes for a night of games, activities and trick-or-treating.
Ghosts and Goblins Intrasquad
The Halloween inspired events continue Tuesday, October 29 starting at 4:30 p.m. when our gymnastics team holds its annual Ghosts and Goblins intrasquad in the Frances Smith Practice Facility. The intrasquad will be followed by The Medalist Club's (gymnastics team's booster organization) Kick Off Party, which will be held down the hall in the men's basketball practice gym starting at 6:30 p.m., with fans having the opportunity to meet the gymnasts and the coaching staff.
Premium Seating Preview
If you have been curious about the new seating options coming to Bryant-Denny Stadium in 2020, the Crimson Tide Foundation invites you to the Premium Seating Preview Center this Friday and Saturday. Located in the old Zoe's Kitchen inside Gate 25 on the south end of Bryant-Denny Stadium, the preview center includes Champions Club and Terrace Club seating, a full-size loge box, and visuals of the new club spaces. #RollTideFriday
This week, we've chosen a couple photos from around the globe that feature Crimson Tide fans' favorite animal … the elephant! First, we have Sandy, who happens to be one of our flight attendants on our football trips, in Bali, and secondly, we have Hails and Julie in Thailand.
