Former Alabama players continue to excel on both sides of the football
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The seventh week of the 2019 season in the National Football League wrapped up on Monday. Below is a look at some of the highlights from former Crimson Tide players currently in the NFL.
A couple of former Tide defensive backs put up big numbers on Sunday. Ronnie Harrison of the Jacksonville Jaguars recorded three tackles, three pass breakups, an interception and a fumble recovery. Harrison's performance helped lead the Jaguars to a 27-17 over Cincinnati. Marlon Humphrey also continued his string of strong performances for the Baltimore Ravens. Humphrey recorded five tackles and a fumble return for a touchdown late in the fourth, as the Ravens took down Seattle, 30-16.
Also posting a strong performance on the defense was Reggie Ragland, with the Chiefs' tackle recording two tackles, a sack and a fumble returned for a touchdown in Kansas City's win over the Denver Broncos a week ago. Continuing his success, Tennessee linebacker Rashaan Evans collected 10 tackles in the Titans' matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Evans is currently the Titans' leading tackler on the team.
On the offensive side of the ball, Rashaan Evans teammate Derrick Henry had a big game out of the backfield. Henry carried the ball 22 times for a total of 90 yards and added one score. Also on offense, Josh Jacobs added to his already successful rookie campaign. The back rushed 21 times for 124 yards and added three grabs for 10 yards.
Former Tide receiver Amari Cooper showed out on Sunday night for the Dallas Cowboys. The wideout hauled in eight catches for 106 yards in a Cowboys win over division rival Philadelphia. Cooper currently ranks third in the NFL in receiving yards this season.
Rounding out the group is former Tide specialist JK Scott. Scott punted three times for the Green Bay Packers this week, totaling 166 yards, for an average of 55.3 and a long of 57. Scott currently ranks second in the NFL for gross average punt yards.
