Alabama Begins Preparations for Homecoming Matchup with Arkansas

Xavier McKinney named Jim Thorpe Award Semifinalist on Monday
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama returned to the practice field Monday for the first time since Saturday's 35-13 home win against Tennessee, working for two hours in shells inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility this afternoon.
Alabama is 84-13-1 (.862) all-time in Homecoming contests and has won the last 16 of those matchups. The Crimson Tide will be facing Arkansas as its Homecoming opponent this weekend. The last Homecoming Game loss for the Tide was a 35-21 defeat to LSU on Nov. 3, 2001.
The Crimson Tide will play its last October home game this weekend when Alabama meets Arkansas for Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Bryant-Denny Stadium at 6:00 p.m. CT. The contest will air on ESPN with Dave Pasch, Greg McElroy and Tom Luginbill on the call.
Also, on Monday, Alabama junior defensive back Xavier McKinney was named a semifinalist for the 2019 Jim Thorpe Award, the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame announced. McKinney is one of 14 semifinalists for nation's top defensive back award. Through seven games, the Roswell, Ga., native has accumulated a team-best 53 tackles, which ranks sixth in the SEC.
