"Set your agenda for success. Dream it, say it, write it down."
That was the message that renowned speaker Felicia Hall Allen shared during the Alabama Athletics Life Skills all-sport symposium.
The president and CEO of a motivational speaking, training, consulting and sports management company, Allen shared what she has found to be the foundation of success with the more 300 Crimson Tide student-athletes that filled the auditorium at the Biology Building on the UA campus.
"Success is not an accident," Allen told the crowd. "It's actually a choice. If you have goals, you think about them every single day.
She went on to share, "If you don't have the desire to do the things you don't want to do but are necessary, then you don't have a champions mindset."
Allen's dynamic, high-energy presentation, grounded in real-life examples, helped put the Tide student-athletes in the right mind set to discover all the possibilities that exist within and around them and help them maximize their talents, pursue their personal best, gain a competitive advantage and win.
"Everybody is running a different race," Allen said. "Everyone is running at a different pace. If you stay the course and trust the process, you will accomplish what is meant for you."
Allen's talk was the latest in a year-long slate of programming designed to fulfill Alabama Life Skill's mission to provide opportunities for growth through personal development and service initiatives, empowering Crimson Tide student-athletes to be difference makers and people of positive influence as they pursue success at Alabama and beyond.
