Proceeds from the contest between the Crimson Tide and Yellow Jackets will go to the American Red Cross Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's basketball men's basketball team will host Georgia Tech on Sunday, Oct. 27 at noon CT for a charity exhibition game that will be played inside Coleman Coliseum. Proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund.
This will mark the first time that Alabama has ever participated in an exhibition game for charity. The NCAA approved that an institution may use one of its possible two exhibition games against a Division I institution for the purposes of raising funds for a catastrophic event. The two teams will play a regulation 40-minute game. There will be no television or radio broadcast for the Alabama-Georgia Tech contest.
The contest will be the front half of a doubleheader under the arched roof of Coleman Coliseum. Following the men's game, the Alabama women's basketball team will play its exhibition contest against Auburn-Montgomery with tipoff slated for 2:30 p.m.
The Crimson Tide men's and women's teams will make their first public appearance on Friday, Oct. 18, at the fifth annual UA Supe Store Tide Tipoff event. Doors open at 6 p.m. for autographs and the on-court event begins at 7 p.m.
Season tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased online at RollTide.com/Tickets or by calling 1-877-TIDETIX (843-3849). Fans can also purchase tickets in advance at the Alabama Ticket Office, located in the lobby of Coleman Coliseum.
