TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – This weekend's Hampton Inn Bama Bash marks the beginning of Alabama volleyball's home slate for the 2018 season. Over the Crimson Tide's 17 home matches this fall, there will be a number of fun activities and giveaways planned for fans of all ages in Foster Auditorium.
Before heading into Bryant-Denny Stadium for Saturday's contest against Arkansas State, fans can stop by Foster Auditorium for a 1 p.m. CT match against Northern Illinois, where admission is free.
The conference portion of the schedule begins Sunday, Sept. 23 against Auburn, which is a Academic Achievement night. School children in the area can redeem their admission tickets earned earlier in the year. Admission will also be free to those who present a ticket stub from the Sept. 22 football game vs. Texas A&M.
Following the AU match, as well as every Sunday match during the SEC portion of the schedule, the team will be signing postgame autographs for fans.
The Tide's Sept. 28 match against South Carolina features a sweater vest shirt giveaway, modeled after the typical game-day attire of head coach Ed Allen. Two days later, the Tide hosts Florida on Dig Doughnuts day. The first 500 fans will get free doughnuts. The match is also Big Al's Kids Club day, with club members gaining $1 admission as well as a puzzle giveaway. Admission is free for anyone who presents a ticket stub from the Sept. 29 football game vs. Louisiana.
Alabama hosts Mississippi State on Wednesday, Oct. 17 in the annual Power of Pink contest, which raises awareness in the fight against breast cancer. Anyone wearing pink will receive free admission and pink shirts and shakers will be given away. The match also will be an opportunity to earn Greek points while Crimson Chaos members will receive free food.
The Sunday, Oct. 28 match against Ole Miss is our second Academic Achievement night and Beat Auburn Beat Hunger night. Fans can bring a canned good for $1 admission, with their donation benefitting the West Alabama Food Bank. Children are also encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costumes and take part in some trick-or-treating at the match.
The Friday, Nov. 2 match against Georgia is Pancake Fest, with a free pancake stack for the first 250 students plus a pancake eating contest. Sunday, Nov. 4 against LSU is the Bama Salute match, with free admission for military members with ID and $3 admission for additional family members.
Wednesday, Nov. 21 is national gingerbread cookie day, and fans will be able to celebrate with free cookies prior to the match against Texas A&M. Alabama wraps up the regular season on Friday, Nov. 23 against Arkansas, celebrating senior day. Fans can get their Black Friday shopping fix at the match as the Tide will be raffling off some high-end tech items to fans.
