
Alba Cortina Pou and Luca Fabian Win Doubles Flight in Day Two of Rice Invitational

Cortina Pou/Fabian went 3-0 in their doubles flight
HOUSTON – The Alabama women's tennis finished doubles play on the second day of the Rice Invitational on Saturday in Houston, Texas.
Juniors Alba Cortina Pou and Luca Fabian won all three matches in their flight after defeating Mjos/Pellicer (USF), 6-2, in the semifinal and then cruised past Mutel/Skyba (Northwestern State), 6-1 in the finals. Senior Andie Daniell and sophomore Moka Ito pushed past Dzenga/Klaric (USF), 6-4, before falling in the flight finals against Hodge/Haet (Rice), 6-3.
Gintrand/Pelletier moved past Barkovic/Kaszas (Sam Houston State), 6-2, before falling to Boy/Roman (USF), 6-3, in consolation.
Two rounds of singles play will finish out the tournament on Sunday.
