Crimson Tide Men’s Cross Country No. 6 in Preseason USTFCCCA National Coaches’ Poll

Alabama is one of three nationally-ranked SEC programs heading into the 2018 season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's cross country team received more preseason recognition on Tuesday, garnering a No. 6 national ranking in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Preseason National Coaches' Poll.
The Crimson Tide is one of three ranked Southeastern Conference programs in the rankings – and the lone SEC squad in the top-10. Defending SEC champion Arkansas is No. 16 while Ole Miss checks in at No. 29 on the preseason list.
Defending NCAA champion Northern Arizona opens the season as the nation's No. 1 team. The Lumberjacks received all 11 first-place votes for 330 points. BYU (312) is second, followed by Portland (301), Stanford (292), Iowa State (280) and the Crimson Tide (277).
Alabama was rated No. 1 in the preseason SEC and USTFCCCA South Region rankings released Monday.
The Crimson Tide men and women begin 2018 at the Mississippi College Season Opener in Clinton, Miss., on Friday, Aug. 31, at 5 p.m. CT.
