TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women's golfers Lakareber Abe, Kristen Gillman, Cheyenne Knight, Angelica Moresco and Lauren Stephenson have been named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars list, the organization announced Tuesday.
The five are among 1,011 women's collegiate golfers at all levels of the NCAA who were honored this season. To eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and compete in at least 50 percent of their team's tournaments.
Abe's selection is the fourth of her career. Knight was selected for the third time while Gillman and Stephenson were honored for the second time. Moresco's recognition is her first. Alabama has had 70 student-athletes named to the WGCA All-American Scholars list since the award's inception in 1985, including 40 since 2005 under head coach Mic Potter.
