Former Alabama Women’s Tennis Star Alexa Guarachi Wins First WTA Doubles Title

Guarachi won the Ladies Championship Gstaad with first-time partner Desirae Krawczyk
GSTAAD, Switzerland – Former Alabama women's tennis standout Alexa Guarachi won her first Women's Tennis Association Doubles Title after she and partner Desirae Krawczyk defeated Lara Arruabarrena (Spain) and Timea Bacsinszky (Switzerland) in the finals of the Ladies Championship Gstaad, 4-6, 6-4, 10-6, on Sunday in Gstaad, Switzerland.
The tournament marked the first time ever that Guarachi and Krawczyk played doubles together, as the two cruised through the field, defeating four-straight opponents before winning the title.
During her time at Alabama, Guarachi earned multiple All-America and All-SEC honors. Guarachi ended her career at the Capstone with 109 victories in singles, which is the most singles wins ever recorded by a player in Alabama history. Furthermore, she wrapped up her doubles campaign with teammate Courtney McLane with 69 wins, which tops the Tide's all-time doubles list.
