Alabama’s Josh Short Earns CoSIDA Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-America Honors

The Cedarburg, Wis., native received the first Academic All-America honor of his career
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama senior Josh Short earned CoSIDA Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-America honors it was announced Thursday.
The Cedarburg, Wis., native carries a 4.0 grade point average in political science. The distance ace served as captain of the Crimson Tide's 2017 cross country squad. He also competed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the 2017 NCAA East Regional and the 2017 and 2018 SEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. He ran a career-best 9:04.71 in the steeplechase at the 2017 Mount SAC Relays.
In the classroom, Short earned President's List honors (4.0 GPA) throughout his career.
This season marks the ninth year in a row that at least one member of the Alabama track & field/cross country team has earned a place on the CoSIDA Academic All-American squad. Overall, 11 members of the program have earned Academic All-America recognition 18 times.
