
Alabama Men’s Tennis’ Mazen Osama Moves to NCAA Quarterfinals with Victory Over No. 47 Runhao Hua

The junior’s historical run continues after dominating Hua (MICH), 6-1, 6-4
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Junior Mazen Osama continued his historic run in the NCAA Singles Tournament after advancing to the quarterfinals by cruising past No. 47 Runhao Hua (Michigan), 6-1, 6-4, in the Round of 16 on Friday morning at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex in Winston-Salem, N.C.
No. 10 Osama will move on to play against No. 1 Martin Redlicki of UCLA tomorrow with the time of the match yet to be announced.
With the win over Hua, Osama improves to 18-7 in singles play on the season, including defeating 12 nationally-ranked foes. The All-American's victory over No. 65 Trevor Johnson in yesterday's Round of 32 matchup, marked the first time ever that a Crimson Tide player has advanced to the Sweet 16.
Osama will look to continue his run against Redlicki who is 19-4 in singles play during the dual match season. Most recently, Redlicki defeated Mississippi State's Giovanni Oradini in the Round of 16, 6-2, 6-1. Redlicki was also named the ITA Senior Player of the Year and led UCLA to the semifinals in this year's NCAA Team Tournament.
