TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama football coach Nick Saban and former Crimson Tide Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram's 8-under par performance at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Challenge charity golf tournament on Tuesday raised $70,000. The money will be split between the Nick's Kids Foundation and the Saban-Ingram Endowed Football Scholarship within the Crimson Tide Foundation.
The charity golf tournament, which has been held since 2007, featured an 11-team field of NCAA head coaches and celebrity alumni who compete for a first-place prize of $110,000 towards scholarships and charities. All participating teams received a share of the $650,000 total purse.
In addition to the $650,000 charity and scholarship purse, another $151,000 was generated for charitable organizations bringing the 2018 total to $801,500 in charitable giving. Since its creation in 2007, the event has contributed a total of $7.6 million in scholarship and charity donations, helping make the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl college football's most charitable bowl game.
