The Crimson Tide posts two wins, one second and third place finish in final day at Lake Natoma Invitational

GOLD RIVER, Calif. – Alabama rowing wrapped up competition at the Lake Natoma Invitational, Sunday, with all of its boats placing in the top-three including a pair of first-place finishes.

"Each crew went on the race course today and executed at a high level," UA head coach Larry Davis said.

The Crimson Tide opened its racing yesterday, taking home a Petite Final victory along with seven third-place finishes. Alabama raced against a strong slate of teams including No. 2 Cal, No. 7 Stanford, No. 8 Brown, Sacramento State, San Diego, Notre Dame and Gonzaga.

The Third Varsity 8+ kicked things off for the Tide on day two with an improved third-place finish time from yesterday (7:01.0) against the second-ranked Golden Bears. Alabama then heated up in its final three races, with back-to-back victories in the 1V4+ (7:33.5) and 2V8+ (7:03.6), before posting a second-place finish in the 1V8+ with a time of 7:03.8 to conclude competition in California.

"We made necessary changes from yesterday and it showed in how we raced," Davis said.

Alabama will be back on the road in two weeks, traveling to Austin, Texas for the Longhorn Invitational on Saturday, April 28. It will be the last regatta of the regular season for the Crimson Tide before the Big 12 Conference Championships in May.
