Alabama Rowing Travels to California for the Lake Natoma Invitational

GOLD RIVER, Calif. – Alabama rowing hits the road again this weekend, heading to Gold River, Calif., for the Lake Natoma Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, April 14-15.
The Crimson Tide will be one of eight teams across the country squaring off at Lake Natoma including No. 2 Cal, No. 7 Stanford, No. 8 Brown, San Diego, Sacramento State, Notre Dame and Gonzaga.
"The team's looking forward to racing some of the best crews in the country this weekend," UA head coach Larry Davis said. "It's a great opportunity to test ourselves and they're ready for the challenge."
Alabama will start its first day of racing in the First Varsity 4+ at 11:10 a.m. CT, followed by the 2V8+ (11:30 a.m. CT), 1V8+ (11:50 a.m. CT) and the 2V4+ (12:10 p.m. CT). The Tide will face Stanford in all four events, Brown in the 1V4+, 2V8+ and 1V8+, and will wrap up the morning facing Notre Dame in the 2V4+.
The teams will return to the water in the afternoon with the Tide going up against the Golden Bears of Cal in the Novice 8/3V8+ at 5:30 p.m. CT. Alabama will then go head-to-head against the Cardinal, Fighting Irish and Sacramento State in the 1V4+ (5:50 p.m. CT), 2V8+ (6:10 p.m. CT) and 1V8+ (6:30 p.m. CT). The 2V4+ Petite and Grand Finals are scheduled for a 6:40 p.m. CT and 6:50 p.m. CT start time, respectively, with the teams to be determined.
The Crimson Tide will wrap up its competition at the Invitational on Sunday morning starting with a rematch against the Golden Bears in the Novice 8/3V8+ at 10 a.m. CT. Alabama will then finish its day by racing Gonzaga, Sacramento State and San Diego in the 1V4+ (10:10 a.m. CT), 2V8+ (10:30 a.m. CT) and 1V8+ (10:50 a.m. CT).
Alabama will be back on the road in two weeks, traveling to Austin, Texas for the Longhorn Invitational on April 28. It will be the last regatta of the season for the Crimson Tide before the Big 12 Championships in May.
