The Crimson Tide will begin its home conference slate March 8 against No. 7 Ole Miss

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 37 Alabama women's tennis team fell to No. 4 Vanderbilt, 4-0, Sunday afternoon at the Currey Tennis Center. Alabama falls to 12-5 on the season while the Commodores (9-2, 2-0 SEC) pick up its third consecutive win.

Vandy jumped out to a 1-0 lead after claiming the doubles point. The 23^rd-ranked doubles pair in the nation topped junior Andie Daniell and sophomore Luca Fabian, 6-2, at No. 1, while Kurtz/Smith defeated the Tide's sophomore tandem of Alba Cortina-Pou and Ann Selim, 6-3, at No. 2.

In singles, the Commodores captured three-straight matches for the 4-0 victory. Vandy's Amanda Meyer topped Selim, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 4, and moments later, Emily Smith took down sophomore Kimberley Gintrand at No. 6. For the win, Vanderbilt's fifth-ranked singles player in the nation, Fernanda Contreras, defeated senior Smith Hinton, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 2.

Up next, Alabama will begin its SEC home slate on Thursday, March 8 when it faces No. 7 Ole Miss at 5 p.m. CT. On Saturday, the Crimson Tide will host Mississippi State and UT Martin in a doubleheader for the Power of Pink match at the Alabama Tennis Stadium.
