
Alabama Women’s Tennis Q&A: Kimberley Gintrand

RollTide.com will be posting Q&A's of each member on this year's Alabama women's tennis team so fans can get to know the members of our Crimson Tide family. The sixth Q&A is with Kimberley Gintrand. Gintrand hails from Angers, France and has posted a 6-1 mark in singles play in the spring.
Q: What is your favorite thing about your hometown?
A: My favorite thing about my hometown is the beautiful architecture. We have a beautiful castle in the center of the city.
Q: If you could play tennis with anyone, who would it be?
A: It would be with Roger Federer.
Q: What is your favorite tennis memory?
A: It was when I played the French championship in Roland Garros.
Q: What is your favorite vacation spot?
A: I love going to Biarritz, it's a beautiful city in the southwest of France. We have an apartment there where I spend most of my holidays.
Q: What is your favorite movie and why?
A: October Sky. I just fell in love with the story of Homer Hickam Jr. I strongly recommend to watch this movie.
Q: What is your dream job?
A: Being one of the big names in the business world. I don't really have a specific job in mind.
Q: What is your favorite spot on campus and why?
A: I don't have a particular spot because everywhere is so pretty.
Q: What other sports did you play growing up?
A: Biking, swimming, dance, horse riding and karate.
Q: How old were you when you started playing tennis and how did you get into it?
A: I was around seven or eight. I was trying a lot of sports and I just loved it the first time I had a racket in my hands.
Q: What is your favorite thing about playing for Alabama?
A: The fans! The atmosphere during match day and just playing for the "A" is something special.
Q: What is your major and what do you hope to do with it one day?
A: Finance and Marketing. I hope to work as an international marketing executive or work in the trades.
Q: Describe yourself in three words…
A: Easy going, hard-working, fun, passionate. (This is 4)
Q: How many different countries have you traveled to and name a few of your favorites.
A: I have traveled to around 10 countries and some of my favorites are the UK and Poland (my mother is polish).
Q: If you could play another sport in college, what would it be?
A: It would be track and field, but short distances.
Q: If you could live in a book, TV show or movie what would it be?
A: FRIENDS!
Q: What is your favorite holiday and why?
A: Christmas because I love the atmosphere, the food, the lights, I mean everything that defines Christmas.
Q: What would you like to say to the fans?
A: ROLL TIDE! Thank you for supporting us and coming to our matches because it's going to be a great year!
Q: What superhero would you be or what super power would you have and why?
A: I wish I could have the power of teleportation so I could see people that live far away from me when I want to.
Q: What is your favorite food or type of cuisine (i.e. Mexican, Italian, etc.)?
A: French food for life!
Q: What actress would most likely play you in a movie?
A: Angelina Jolie in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. I like almost all the movies she has starred in. She is always playing someone tough, but at the same time, very feminine.
Q: What are your pre-match rituals?
A: Listening to music with my teammates around.
Q: If you can switch places with anyone, who would it be and why?
A: I don't think I would like to switch places with someone, I like my life the way it is.
Q: Who is your favorite athlete?
A: Usain Bolt
Q: Who is your favorite artist?
A: Ed Sheeran
Q: If you could talk to any animal, what would it be and why?
A: Dogs, because I always wonder what they are thinking when we talk to them.
Q: If you could be any cartoon character, who would it be and why?
A: Sam in the Totally Spies! She was the smartest of the three and she was the only one with long hair like me.
