
No. 8 Alabama Men’s Golf Returns to Action at Linger Longer Invitational

Crimson Tide has won tournament four of last seven years
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The eighth-ranked University of Alabama men's golf team will begin a stretch of playing three tournaments in the next four weeks when it travels to Greensboro, Ga., to compete at the 2018 Linger Longer Invitational. The event will be held Sunday through Tuesday, March 18-20, on the par-72, 7,073-yard Great Waters Golf Club at Reynolds Lake Oconee.
The Tide has won the tournament four of the last seven years, most recently in 2016 when it carded a team total of 12-under par 852. Alabama also achieved the feat in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Alabama's five-man lineup includes two players ranked among the top-25 in the most recent Golfstat.com individual rankings. Junior Davis Riley enters the event ranked No. 6 in the nation, while senior Lee Hodges checks in at No. 23 nationally. Senior Jonathan Hardee and freshmen Davis Shore and Wilson Furr will also compete for the Tide. Sophomore Josh Sedeno will also make the trip and compete as an individual.
In addition to the Crimson Tide, this year's 16-team field includes Akron, Augusta, Charlotte, Chattanooga, Cincinnati, No. 61 Georgia, No. 53 Kennesaw State, Mercer, Michigan, Middle Tennessee State, Ohio State, Penn State, Troy, UNC Greensboro, and No. 44 Virginia.
Alabama is scheduled to begin play at 7:30 a.m. CT (8:30 a.m. ET) on Hole No. 1, and will be paired alongside Kennesaw State and Georgia.
