
Crimson Tide Women’s Basketball Welcomes Razorbacks to Tuscaloosa on Sunday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's basketball team (14-8, 4-5 SEC) returns to Tuscaloosa after back-to-back road games and will host the Arkansas Razorbacks (11-11, 2-7 SEC) Sunday in Coleman Coliseum. Game time is set for 1 p.m. CT.
PROMOTIONS
• Fans who present a ticket from Friday night's gymnastics meet will receive a free ticket to the game.
THE BROADCAST
• Sunday's game will air on the SEC Network with Cara Capuano and Steffi Sorensen on the call.
• The game can also be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network on 93.3 FM in Tuscaloosa with Roger Hoover on the broadcast.
OPENING TIP
• Alabama returns to Tuscaloosa for a pair of road games following its road swing at Kentucky and Auburn.
• The Crimson Tide will first play host to the Arkansas Razorbacks on Sunday before welcoming in South Carolina on Thursday, Feb. 8.
• Sunday's game will be the second between Alabama and Arkansas this season. The Crimson Tide came out on top in the Jan. 7 contest at Arkansas, 83-76, thanks to 18 points and five assists from Jordan Lewis and 17 points and seven rebounds from Ashley Williams.
• The win snapped a six-game losing streak against the Razorbacks that dated back to Feb. 27, 2011.
SCOUTING ALABAMA
• Alabama enters Sunday's game with a 14-8 overall record and a 4-5 mark in Southeastern Conference play.
• UA is 10-2 in home games this season, which includes a 2-2 mark in against league opponents.
• The Crimson Tide is led in scoring by senior Hannah Cook, who averages 11.3 points per game and in rebounding by fellow senior Ashley Williams, who averages 6.5 boards per contest. Sophomore Jordan Lewis leads the way in assists with 3.6 per game.
• Sophomore Ashley Knight leads the team and ranks fourth in the SEC and 33rd nationally in blocks per game with an average of 2.27. She is currently second in career blocks at Alabama (140) and is 47 away from tying Yolanda Watkins (187) for most in program history.
• As a team, the Crimson Tide is averaging 67.6 points per game, 7.4 more than its opponents, and is outrebounding the opposition 39.9-35.5.
• After finishing the 2016-17 season last in the SEC in free throw percentage, Alabama has jumped up to fifth, hitting 71.6 percent of its attempts as a team.
• In 18 of its 22 games this season, Alabama has had eight or more in the scoring column. In eight of those 18 games, 10 or more scored for the Crimson Tide.
• The Crimson Tide started its SEC season with a 3-1 record, which was its best mark since the 1997-98 season. Alabama has also won four of its first seven league games for the first time since that season.
SCOUTING ARKANSAS
• Arkansas stands at 11-11 overall and 2-7 in Southeastern Conference play heading into Sunday's matchup.
• The Razorbacks are 2-8 on the road this season.
• Last time out, Arkansas dropped a 76-65 decision to Kentucky.
• The Razorbacks are led in scoring by junior Malika Monk and senior Devin Cosper, who average 16.0 points and 14.8 points, respectively. Sophomore Kiara Williams collected a team-best 7.4 rebounds, while Monk also leads in assists with 3.8 per contest.
• As a team, Arkansas is averaging 67.3 points per game and 40.3 rebounds per contest.
• Arkansas is coached by Mike Neighbors, who is in his first year with the Razorbacks after having coached at Washington for four years.
