Alabama Gymnastics’ Nickie Guerrero Named SEC Specialist of the Week

The senior won three events, including the vault, where she posted a career-best score of 9.95, at Auburn
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama gymnast Nickie Guerrero was named the Southeastern Conference Specialist of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Guerrero led Alabama to a season-best 197.300 at then No. 16 Auburn on Friday. She tied her career-best score of 9.95 to win the vault. Guerrero also posted wins on the balance beam and floor exercise with scores of 9.9 and 9.925, respectively.
The Texas native has now posted six scores of 9.9 or better on the vault this season. On the balance beam, she has scored 9.9 or better five times, including a season-best 9.95 at Florida. On the floor exercise, Guerrero has scored four consecutive 9.9 or better marks, including a season-best 9.925 at Auburn.
Alabama is home this Friday against North Carolina at 7:30 p.m. It will be the Tide's first non-conference meet since the opening week of the season and UA's first non-SEC meet in Coleman Coliseum this season.
