Alabama Swimming and Diving Junior Earns Win on Day Two of Auburn Invitational

Junior Emma Murray clocked a career-best 1:01.29 to win the 100 breaststroke in Auburn
AUBURN, Ala. – The Alabama swimming and diving team nabbed 12 top-five finishes on day two of the Auburn Invitational being held in the James E. Martin Aquatic Center this weekend.
Junior Emma Murray led the Tide with a win in the women's 100 breaststroke, stopping the clock with a career-best 1:01.29, while freshman Kaila Wong (1:02.16) and junior Sarah Helm (1:02.57), took fourth and fifth, respectively. Murray's time ranks her sixth all-time at Alabama, while Wong's was a career-best.
Senior Braxton Young clocked a career-best 54.56 in the 100 breaststroke, taking second while freshman Josh Lenzmeier was third with a career-best mark of his own, going 55.14. Alabama also went 2-3 in the women's 100 backstroke, when freshman Sezin Eligul and sophomore Lexi Souther, went 54.20 and 54.54, respectively. Eligul's time was a career best and ranks her 10th all-time at Alabama.
Junior Caroline Beene was fourth in the women's 100 butterfly with a career-best time of 54.68, while junior Knox Auerbach was fourth in the men's 100 fly after touching the wall with a 48.08. Freshman Michael Burris took fourth in the 400 individual medley with a career-best 3:54.78, while freshman Alex Robinson was fourth in the 100 backstroke, with a career-best 48.44. Sophomore Cameron Brown was fourth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:50.92.
The Tide closes out the invitational Sunday with prelims starting at 9 a.m. CT and finals getting underway at 3 p.m. CT.
