
Alabama Set for Final Non-Conference Home Game Versus Northwestern State on Sunday

The Crimson Tide is prepared to take on the Lady Demons at 2 p.m. CT in Coleman Coliseum
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama will play its final home game of 2018 when it welcomes Northwestern State on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. CT inside Coleman Coliseum. The Crimson Tide (6-4) is coming off a week of practice after last playing against Tulane (W, 69-58) on Dec. 8, while the Lady Demons (4-4) last defeated Centenary College on Saturday, 91-54.

THE BROADCAST
• Saturday's game will stream live on SEC Network + via the WatchESPN app. Eli Gold (play-by-play) and Rick Moody (analyst) will be on the call and will be joined by sideline reporter Mackenzie McClintock.
• The game can also be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network on 93.3 FM in Tuscaloosa with Roger Hoover on the broadcast.
OPENING TIP
• Head coach Kristy Curry will look reach another coaching milestone when she goes for her 400th career win on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 2 p.m. CT against Northwestern State in the annual Holiday Hoops game.
• The Crimson Tide (6-4) is coming off a 69-58 victory over Tulane (12/8) to snap a three-game losing streak, while the Lady Demons most recently won against Division III Centenary College, 91-54 on Dec. 8.
• Alabama leads the all-time series 7-0, while most recently defeating NW State, 78-52, on Nov. 18, 2011.
ALABAMA VS. THE SOUTHLAND
• The Crimson Tide is 31-8 against current Southland Conference teams.
• The Tide is 1-0 against Southland teams this year when UA came away with a 88-40 regular season opening victory over Southeastern Louisiana (11/7).
ABOUT NORTHWESTERN STATE• Northwestern State is 4-4 in its 2018-19 campaign, including only 1-4 against Div. I opponents. The Lady Demons are also 0-3 on the road.
• The Lady Demons are led by Kira Bonner (11.4 ppg) & Libba Gilliam (10.4 ppg).
• Last season Northwestern State finished 7-22 overall including a 2-16 mark in the Southland Conference.
NEWS AND NOTES
• Alabama has impressed the most when it's on its home court, compiling a 5-1 record, while combining for a 1-3 mark in games away from Coleman Coliseum. During its six home games, the Tide is outscoring its opponents by an average margin of 17.3 points and has a rebounding margin of +9.5. UA is also shooting 41.4 percent from the field, while holding opponents to just 33.7 percent.
• Junior point guard Jordan Lewis made her return against South Alabama (12/5) after missing five games due to a knee injury. In her first two contests back, Lewis has been fantastic averaging 17 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists. Lewis has started all 72 games she's played in during her time at Alabama and is one of two returning starters from the 2017-18 team. She is also currently No. 10 all-time in assists at Alabama, with 277.
• Sophomore Jasmine Walker has made great progress through 10 games this season with the Tide. The Montgomery, Ala. native, currently leads the team in points and rebounds with 13.3 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Walker also leads the team with two double-doubles this season. Her 7.7 rebounds per contest ranks 11th in the SEC.
• 2018 NJCAA Player of the Year Cierra Johnson has taken some time to get adjusted to the play of Division I competition, only averaging nine points per game through the first three games. However, the junior has scored in double digits in each of the last seven games and was named to the Arizona State Classic All-Tournament Team (12/2). She is also second on the team with 12.6 points per game and tied for first on the team with 3.0 assists per contest.
