We’ll be getting to know this year’s senior class with a series of Q&As here on RollTide.com
In her fourth year representing the Crimson Tide, Virginia Dodenhoff hails from New Orleans, La., and is a public relations major.
What's your favorite memory of rowing for Alabama?
"My favorite memory was when I won my first bronze medal at the Big 12 Championships my sophomore year. I had such a fun boat and we went out and proved a lot of people wrong!"
What's your funniest memory of rowing for Alabama?
"Freshman year, we had a race in New Jersey and it felt like it was -32 degrees. I was racing in the freshman 8+ and we killed it! After the race we looked online at all the pictures from that day and there's this picture of me that got turned into a meme. It is so funny. We even made T-shirts with the picture on it."
Who is your favorite artist and why?
"My favorite song of all time is "Dancing in the Moonlight" by King Harvest, but Jimmy Buffett is my day-one. I love that guy! His music is so fun and he has created this culture that I want to immerse myself into. I will probably live in one of his retirement communities when I graduate college. Who needs to work when you can go live in Margaritaville? I also love the Grateful Dead too."
What's your favorite place to visit and why?
"I love going to the beach. I love the sound of the waves and reading a good book. I love getting a little sunburnt and just having good times with your friends. I also love going on boat rides… SO FUN! I'm just so happy when I'm by the water."
If you were going to be stranded on an island, which teammate(s) would you bring and why?
"I would take Rachel Sowell and Abby Wohler. Abby and I would get into some shenanigans while my girl Rachel would keep us in line. The three of us would have a lot of fun on that island, that's for sure!"
