No. 70 Daniell defeats Michigan’s No. 33 Giulia Pairone
SURPRISE, Ariz. – Senior No. 70 Andie Daniell won a three-set thriller over No. 33 Giulia Pairone (Michigan), 2-6, 6-3, 6-1, in the Round of 32 of the 2018 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships on Thursday at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex in Surprise, Ariz.
No. 12-seeded Daniell looks to maintain momentum Friday while competing in the Round of 16, where she will take on No. 30 Christina Rosca of Vanderbilt at 10 a.m. CT
Today's win moves the Douglasville, Ga. native to 9-3 and marks her fourth win over a nationally-ranked opponent this fall.
The 2018 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships is available to a national audience LIVE via ESPN3 and on the ESPN app, and later will be aired on ESPNU for the men's and women's final.
