
Crimson Tide Continues Home Stand Friday Against Grambling State

Alabama is set to take on the Lady Tigers on Friday at 2 p.m. CT in Coleman Coliseum
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's basketball team continues its home stand when it takes on Grambling State on Friday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. CT inside Coleman Coliseum. The Crimson Tide (3-1) is coming off of an impressive 76-56 win over Clemson on Monday night.

• Alabama women's basketball game and Alabama volleyball game (7 p.m. on Friday) ticket bundle for $6.
THE BROADCAST
• The game will be on SEC Network + and can be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network on 93.3 FM in Tuscaloosa with Roger Hoover on the broadcast.
OPENING TIP
• Alabama looks to continue its momentum when it takes on the Grambling State Lady Tigers for the eighth time in history on Friday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. CT inside Coleman Coliseum.
• Alabama is 7-0 all-time against Grambling State, including defeating the Lady Tigers last year in Tuscaloosa, 73-49 on Dec. 10, 2017.
• The Crimson Tide is coming off of a game in which it dominated Clemson on Monday night, 76-56, while Grambling State fell to UT-Arlington 78-54 on Tuesday night in Arlington, Texas.
ALABAMA VS. SWAC
• The Crimson Tide is 60-4 all-time against Southwestern Athletic Conference teams.
• Alabama has never lost at home to a SWAC team and has not lost against a SWAC school since Dec. 4, 2009 in Montgomery, Ala., versus Alabama State.
ABOUT GRAMBLING STATE
• The Lady Tigers are 1-3 under third-year head coach Freddie Murray.
• Grambling State is led by senior Shakyla Hill who leads the team in points (15.8), tied for first in rebounds (5.8), assists (5.0) and steals (5.3). Jazmin Boyd is also averaging double figures with 10.3 points per game.
• In 2017-18 Grambling State finished the season with a 19-14 record and 13-5 mark in SWAC play. As the No. 3 seed in its conference tournament, the Lady Tigers defeated No. 1 seed Southern 72-68 to reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 19 years. In the tournament, Grambling State fell to No. 2 seed Baylor in the first round, 96-46.
NEWS AND NOTES
• Head coach Kristy Curry is just four wins away from reaching another coaching milestone with 400 wins in her career. Curry ranks 4th in the SEC among active coaches in career wins and is just 13 wins away from her 100th victory at Alabama.
• Junior Jasmine Walker has made significant strides through four games this season with the Tide. The Mobile, Ala. native, currently leads the team in points and rebounds with 13.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Walker also leads the team with two double-doubles this season.
• Sophomore Ariyah Copeland's improvement can be spotted on the court and on the stat sheet. Through four games this season the Columbus, Ga. native, is tops on the team with 2.5 blocks per game, second on the team with 5.8 rebounds, and tied for second on the squad with 1.25 steals. Copeland's 10 blocks this season ranks second in the SEC and 18th in the nation in just 20 minutes per game off the bench. In addition, she averages 5.8 points per game while shooting 50 percent from the field.
• Junior Ashley Knight is just 37 blocks away from breaking Alabama's all-time block record, with 151 blocks in her career. Last year she finished No. 4 in the Tide record books with 59 blocks in a single-season. Knight still holds the single-season record for blocks with 90 in 2016-17.
• Knight also currently holds the highest career field goal percentage (55.8) in Alabama history. The Austin, Texas native, has made 173-of-310 attempts in her career at Alabama.
