Ford and Maize will represent Alabama at the Third Annual Career Tour in Atlanta
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama men's track and field junior Alize Ford and Alabama soccer's sophomore Chloe Maize are two of the 28 current and former Southeastern Conference student-athletes that are set to participate in the SEC Career Tour in Atlanta on Nov. 27-29.
This marks the third consecutive year the conference has invited student-athletes from each of its institutions to participate in the career tour leading up to the SEC Football Championship Game.
The purpose of the career tour is to provide professional exposure and information to student-athletes to aid in the job search process. The student-athletes can meet with several corporations including UPS, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, The Home Depot and the NBA's Atlanta Hawks. The career tour also provides the opportunity to engage in a panel discussion with SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey and former SEC student-athletes.
Ford has been a valuable member of the Alabama relay teams in his first two years with the Crimson Tide track & field program and has provided valuable depth at 100 meters and 200 meters. He recorded a personal-best in the 200 meters at the Tom Jones Invitational last season, crossing the line in 20.84. The Columbia, Ala., native is majoring in communications studies.
After redshirting her first year at the Capstone, forward Maize made an immediate impact on the soccer program scoring two goals, including a game-winning goal in the 2017 season. The Cleveland, Tenn. native, started and played in the first four games of the 2018 season, until suffering a season ending knee injury. While majoring in public relations, Maize has earned a spot on the SEC Academic Honor Roll every year and is a representative of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
