We’ll be getting to know this year’s senior class with a series of Q&As here on RollTide.com
Now in her fourth year representing the Crimson Tide, Cheyenne Adams hails from Sarasota, Fla., and is a History major.
What's your favorite memory of rowing for Alabama?
"My favorite memory goes way back into my freshmen year at the Head of the Hooch. Racing in the Novice category, my boat got first, but it was the racing that was most memorable. I remember we were racing as fast as we could down the course, hugging the buoy line. We were moving up on a boat around the last 2k proportion of the 5k, however, that 8+ would not yield out of the fastest lane. My coxswain noticed that and started yelling through the mic to get the other coxswain to move. When no movement occurred, she yelled straight into the mic 'move or I will protest!' The line itself may not seem like much but the amount of energy behind her voice made our boat suddenly pick up and move. As we passed that boat, she gave the other coxswain a little wave goodbye."
What's your favorite Netflix show and why?
"My favorite Netflix show is of course Friends!!! My whole family quotes the show non-stop and gives references, so saying how much I favor the show is no joke. Hence, my pug is named Ross and when I study, I play the show as background noise."
What's your funniest memory of rowing for Alabama?
"My funniest memory on the team is on the trip back from the Sunshine State regatta in Sarasota, Fla. The Beauty and the Beast live-action movie had just come out into theaters and my particular bus came up with an idea to do the opening number 'Belle', especially the beginning part where the villagers all open their shutters to say bonjour. Seeing how we were in a sleeper bus with curtains to block the light, we decided to replicate the scene. I remember we had trouble getting our laughs in and getting the timing just right. We took a video and posted it. Though it may have not caught on, the moment is still my funniest memory."
Who would play you in a movie and why?
"I know I have been told I look like Alicia Silverstone, but she is a little older than what I am looking for. My main guess would be Lily James. I think she can definitely play me. She can sing which coincides with my singing ability and I know she's got my messy, wavy, curly hair appearance down like me – minus her British accent of course."
What's your favorite song right now and why?
"There are two songs currently I play on repeat: 'Riot (lo lo loco) (ft. Alida)' by Lvndscape and 'POP/STARS (ft. Jaira Burns & League of Legends)' by (G)I-DLE. 'Riot' is beyond catchy to me and gets me pumped for whatever. I don't know why, but take a listen and you'll hear it. 'POP/STARS' does have Korean lyrics mixed with English but the song does produce a type of girl power anthem. Along with an amazing beat, there is no reason this song is irresistible to me."
