The Crimson Tide travels to Chattanooga, Tenn., making the first of four trips of the 2018-19 season to the Volunteer state
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama rowing travels to Chattanooga, Tenn., this weekend for the Head of the Hooch in what will be the Crimson Tide's final event of the fall season. It also marks the team's first of four trips of the season to the state of Tennessee.
"This time of year, our best hope is that all of our crews will perform to their capability in order to gain a reasonable assessment of where we are at this point in our training," UA head coach Glenn Putyrae said.
Alabama will have a full day of action Saturday as the Tide competes in three events over four hours. Alabama kicks things off with four crews rolling out in the Women's Championship 8+ (12:08 p.m. CT), followed by two crews in the Women's College & Club Novice 8+ (1:37 p.m. CT). The Tide wraps up its day of racing with three crews competing in the Women's Championship 4+, set for a 4:17 p.m. CT start.
"The team has been training extremely hard this fall and we are excited to see where we are," Putyrae said. "We are looking forward to some competitive racing."
Alabama returns to action Sunday, Nov. 4, starting with four pairs competing in the Women's Open 2- (11:41 a.m. CT) and closes its weekend of racing with three crews for the Women's Open 8+ (12:12 p.m. CT).
