
Crimson Tide Finishes Road Trip with Matchup Against SMU on Thursday

Alabama will take on the Mustangs at 7 p.m. CT inside Moody Coliseum
DALLAS – The Alabama women's basketball ends its two-game road trip on Thursday at 7 p.m. CT when it plays against SMU inside Moody Coliseum in Dallas, Texas. The game marks the third time the two teams have met, most recently with the Tide besting the Mustangs last year on Dec. 17 inside Coleman Coliseum, 59-44.
THE BROADCAST
• Thursday's matchup will be streamed live on PonyUpTV, while the game can also be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network or TuneIn app. Locally the game will be on 93.3 FM in Tuscaloosa with Roger Hoover on the broadcast.
OPENING TIP
• The Crimson Tide finishes its two-game road trip with its first-ever game at Moody Coliseum to take on the SMU Mustangs on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. CT.
• Thursday's game is the third time the two teams have met, with the second coming last year when the Tide earned a double-digit victory over the Mustangs, 59-44, in Tuscaloosa on Dec. 17, 2017.
• The Tide is coming off of a 72-62 loss to Utah in Salt Lake City, while SMU most recently defeated Mississippi Valley State 62-47 on Monday night.
ALABAMA VS. AAC
• The Crimson Tide is 5-1 all-time against current American Athletic Conference teams. Since the AAC's inception in 2013, the Tide has compiled a 3-0 record in the regular season and 2-1 mark in WNIT play against AAC teams.
• In addition to Thursday's matchup, the Tide will also play fellow-AAC opponent Tulane on Dec. 8 in Tuscaloosa.
ABOUT SMU
• The Mustangs are 2-0 after defeating UL-Monroe (49-38 on Nov. 9) and Mississippi Valley State (62-47 on Nov. 12).
• SMU is led by Kayla White (12 points per game) and Alicia Froling (11.5 points per game and 11 rebounds per game).
• In 2017-18 Mustangs finished with an overall record of 10-20 and a 4-12 mark in the AAC.
NEWS AND NOTES
• Junior Jasmine Walker has made significant strides through two games this season with the Tide. The Mobile, Ala. native, currently leads the team with 15 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.
• After leading the team with six assists through two games, junior point guard Jordan Lewis is currently tied for No. 10 all-time in career assists at Alabama and just needs one to break the tie at the No. 10 spot.
• Freshman De'Sha Benjamin has been money for the Tide off the bench this season. Benjamin currently averages 12 points and four rebounds per game in just 16.5 minutes per contest off the bench. Benjamin is also tied for tops on the team beyond the arc with four made three-pointers, including going 3-for-4 from the three-point line against Utah (11/13).
• Junior Ashley Knight is just 39 blocks away from breaking Alabama's all-time block record, with 149 blocks in her career. Last year she finished No. 4 in the Tide record books with 59 blocks in a single-season. Knight still holds the single-season record for blocks with 90 in 2016-17.
• Knight also currently holds the highest career field goal percentage (55.7 percent) in Alabama history. The Austin, Texas native, has made 167-of-300 attempts in her two-year career.
• Junior point guard Jordan Lewis is currently sitting at No. 7 all-time at Alabama in career assists per game with 3.9 in her two-year stint with the Tide. Lewis also came in at No. 8 in the UA record books in single-season assists with 154 during the 2016-17 season.
