We’ll be getting to know this year’s senior class with a series of Q&As here on RollTide.com
In her fourth year representing the Crimson Tide, Lauren Fehr hails from Orlando, Fla., and is a marketing graduate student.
What's your favorite memory of rowing for Alabama?
"My favorite memory was definitely conference championships my sophomore year. I was in the 3V8+ and the race was super tight and was going to come down to the last few strokes. Four boats were neck-and-neck right before the last 500m. Sydney Boles was coxing and she called for us to sprint the whole last 500 meters. At first, I was like 'ah, why are we sprinting so early,' but thank goodness she called it because I don't think we would've earned silver if she hadn't. It was a photo finish."
What's your funniest memory of rowing for Alabama?
"I can't think of one specific funny memory. I think as a whole, my 3V8+ sophomore year was hilarious. The bow four was me, Ariana Sweany, Hailey Higgins and Olivia DeGroot. We were always messing around. We were, pretty much, a boat full of idiots, but we went really fast."
Which Hogwarts House would you want to be sorted into and why?
"I'm, no doubt, a Gryffindor. I'm still waiting for my Hogwarts letter to come."
If you could compete in an Olympic sport other than rowing, which would it be and why?
"Definitely gymnastics. I think all the flips and stuff are really cool. All the rowers already know that I'm really good at jumping on trampolines anyway. Just kidding. Don't jump on a trampoline unless you want to tear your ACL."
If you were going to be stranded on an island, which teammate(s) would you bring and why?
"That's a tough one but I feel like Cheyenne Adams. The girl can cook so I would always be well fed. Plus, she knows like every song so she's basically a walking iPod. However, I'm still waiting for her to finally start appreciating my fantastic sense of humor."
