Women’s Basketball Begins Two-Game Road Swing Against Utah on Tuesday

The Crimson Tide will take on the Utes at 8 p.m. CT inside the Jon M. Huntsman Center
SALT LAKE CITY – Alabama women's basketball begins its two-game road swing when it takes on Utah on Tuesday at 8 p.m. CT inside the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The game will mark the second time the two teams have played against each other, with the Crimson Tide winning the first meeting 65-60 on Nov. 13, 2017 in Tuscaloosa.
THE BROADCAST
• Tuesday's matchup will be streamed live on UtahUtes.com and the game can also be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network or TuneIn app. Locally the game will be on 93.3 FM in Tuscaloosa with Roger Hoover on the broadcast.
OPENING TIP
• The Crimson Tide opens its two-game road swing with its first-ever trip to Salt Lake City to take on the Utes on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 8 p.m. CT/7 p.m. MT.
• Tuesday's matchup is the second time the two teams have met, with the first coming last year when the Tide defeated the Utes, 65-60 in Tuscaloosa on Nov. 13, 2017.
• Both teams enter the game with a 1-0 record after the Tide defeated Southeastern Louisiana 88-40 on Nov. 7 and Utah bested Nevada on the road, 74-52.
WADE'S WORLD
• Senior Shaquera Wade finished the game against Southeastern Louisiana with a game-high 20 points to go along with seven rebounds and three steals.
• Wade's 20-point game was the first by an Alabama player in a season opener since the 2014 season when former UA standout Ashley Williams put up 21 points against Florida A&M in the first game of the season on Nov. 14, 2014.
• After swiping three steals in game one, the Huntsville, Ala. native, is now just 27 steals away from tying for No. 9 all-time at Alabama.
BACK-TO-BACK DOUBLE-DOUBLES
• For the second consecutive season the Tide had a player earn a double-double in the first game of the season when junior Jasmine Walker put up 12 points and 13 rebounds in the opening win over SE Louisiana (Nov. 7). Last season, then-freshman Ariyah Copeland had a monster game with 16 points and 15 rebounds to start her UA career against Alabama A&M.
DROPPIN' DIMES
• After leading the team with three assists in the season opener, junior point guard Jordan Lewis is just four assists away from No. 10 all-time in career assists at Alabama.
• Lewis has been known for her passing throughout her career as she is No. 8 on Alabama's single-season assist list with 154 during her freshman campaign. Last season the Windermere, Fla. native, dropped 108 assists in 31 games.
ABOUT UTAH
• The Utes are 1-0 after defeating Nevada 74-52 in Reno, Nev., on Nov. 7.
• Utah's Dre'Una Edwards and Megan Huff both had double-doubles in the season opener, with Edwards putting up 16 points and 15 boards, while Huff added 15 points and 11 rebounds.
• In 2017-18 the Utes finished the season 18-14 (8-10 in Pac-12), and fell in the second round of the WNIT.
IN THE RECORD BOOKS
• Junior Ashley Knight is just 39 blocks away from breaking Alabama's all-time block record, with 149 blocks in her career. Last year she finished No. 4 in the Tide record books with 59 blocks in a single-season. Knight still holds the single-season record for blocks with 90 in 2016-17.
• Knight also currently holds the highest career field goal percentage (.561 – min. 295 attempts) in Alabama history. The Austin, Texas native, has made 166-of-296 attempts in her two-year career.
• Junior point guard Jordan Lewis is currently sitting at No. 7 all-time at Alabama in career assists per game with 3.9 in her two-year stint with the Tide. Lewis also came in at No. 8 in the UA record books in single-season assists with 154 during the 2016-17 season.
