In her fourth year representing the Crimson Tide, Rachel Sowell hails from Jacksonville, Fla., and is an advertising major.
What's your favorite memory of rowing for Alabama?
"My favorite memory is winning a silver medal at the Big 12 Championships in the 1V4+ my sophomore year."
What's your funniest memory of rowing for Alabama?
"When (assistant coach) James Mulcahy was demonstrating what our catches should sound like and then proceeded to do a cannon ball into the water."
If you were going to be stranded on an island, which teammate(s) would you bring and why?
"I would choose Virginia Dodenhoff and Abby Wohler, because Virginia would keep things fun and happy while Abby would be brutally honest and tell us the worst-case scenario."
If you could go back in time, which decade would you choose and why?
"I would probably choose the '80s because I like the music from that time period, and I would rock the leg warmers."
Which Hogwarts House would you want to be sorted into and why?
"Gryffindor because who doesn't love a scarlet and gold knitted scarf?!"
