Tournament will be Alabama’s first outing since its record-setting performance at the Schooner Fall Classic
TUSCALOOSA Ala. – The Alabama women's golf team returns to action this weekend at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, Oct. 19-21, at the par-72, 6,491-yard University of Texas Golf Club in Austin, Texas. The outing will be the Crimson Tide's first since its NCAA-record 45-under par performance at the Schooner Fall Classic in September.

Teams participating in the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational include: Alabama, Baylor, Colorado, Florida, Kent State, New Mexico, North Texas, SMU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech, Tulane.
Alabama Sets NCAA Record with 45-Under Par Victory at the Schooner Fall Classic
The Alabama women's golf team turned in a record-setting performance to win the 2018 Schooner Fall Classic, Sept. 28-30, in Norman, Okla. The Crimson Tide shot 11-under par in the final round to finish the tournament at -45 and break the NCAA record for team score vs. par by four shots. Alabama (272-262-273/807) cruised to a 17-shot win over runner-up Texas (272-272-280/824), which finished at -28.
Junior Jiwon Jeon and senior Lauren Stephenson finished first and second, respectively, in the individual standings and became the first Tide golfers to shoot under 200 for 54 holes in school history. Jeon (66-64-66/196) finished at -17 to set school records for score and score vs. par over 54 holes. The records come one day after the Daegu, South Korea, native set a UA 36-hole record with a two-round 12-under par 130 at the par 71, 6,048-yard Belmar Golf Club track.
Crimson Tide Boasts Three of the World's Top Six Amateur Golfers
Alabama enters the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational with a line-up that features three golfers ranked in the top-six in the latest World Amateur Golf Rankings, released Oct. 17. Junior Kristen Gillman, senior Lauren Stephenson and junior Jiwon Jeon are ranked No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6, respectively, this week.
