Alabama Women’s Basketball Continues Road Swing at Arkansas on Sunday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's basketball team (11-4, 1-1 SEC) will play its second Southeastern Conference road contest of the week when it takes on Arkansas (10-5, 1-1 SEC) in Fayetteville on Sunday. The game is scheduled for a 3 p.m. CT tip at Bud Walton Arena.
THE BROADCAST
• Sunday's game will air on the SEC Network with Jenn Hildreth and Steffi Sorensen on the call.
• The game can also be heard on the Crimson Tide Sports Network on 93.3 FM in Tuscaloosa with Roger Hoover on the broadcast.
OPENING TIP
• Alabama will be playing its second Southeastern Conference road game of the week when it takes on Arkansas in Fayetteville on Sunday.
• Last time out, the Crimson Tide picked up its first win in Gainesville over Florida since 2010 with the 63-54 victory. Alabama ended the game on an 11-0 run to seal the win.
• UA enters the game with a 3-1 record in true road games, picking up wins at Georgia Southern, Lipscomb and Florida. The one loss came at TCU.
SCOUTING ALABAMA
• Alabama enters Sunday's game with an 11-4 overall record and a 1-1 mark in Southeastern Conference play.
• The Crimson Tide is led in scoring and by senior Hannah Cook, who averages 11.1 points and in rebounding by senior Ashley Williams, who contributes 6.6 boards per contest. Sophomore Jordan Lewis leads the way in assists with 3.4 per game.
• Sophomore Ashley Knight leads the team and ranks third in the SEC and 12th nationally in blocks per game with an average of 2.93.
• As a team, the Crimson Tide is averaging 68.9 points per game, 13.7 more than its opponents, and is outrebounding the opposition 43.1-36.7.
• After finishing the 2016-17 season last in the SEC in free throw percentage, Alabama has jumped up to fifth, hitting 72.0 percent of its attempts as a team.
SCOUTING ARKANSAS
• Arkansas stands at 10-5 overall and 1-1 in Southeastern Conference play heading into Sunday's matchup.
• The Razorbacks are 8-0 in home games this season.
• Last time out, Arkansas dropped a 111-69 decision at Mississippi State.
• The Razorbacks are led in scoring by junior Malika Monk and senior Devin Cosper, who average 16.3 points and 16.2 points, respectively. Sophomore Kiara Williams collected a team-best 7.8 rebounds, while Monk also leads in assists with 4.3 per contest.
• As a team, Arkansas is averaging 70.6 points per game and 41.5 rebounds per contest.
• Arkansas is coached by Mike Neighbors, who is in his first year with the Razorbacks after having coached at Washington for four years.
